| Cobras to the Coast Sept. 18-19-20 |
Get ready for One, Two or Three days of fun!
BACC will be joining our fellow Cobra lovers from Texas as they explore
Northern California on the first leg of their tour of the California coast from
the Sonoma wine country to San Diego via Highway 1( BACC will be joining
this group from Sonoma south to Monterey in stages). The TCC (Texas
Cobra Club) tour has 2 groups coming from Texas to the Bay Area to start
their tour of Highway 1 (total of 14 Cobras). The first group will arrive Friday
at SFO (San Francisco) and the second group will be coming in on Monday
to SJC (San Jose).
We have a number of options planned to help them kick off their tour:
On Sat. Sept.18 we will be meeting up with our friends from Texas for
breakfast near SFO , then it will be off to pick-up their Cobras which they are
having delivered by truck to their hotel.Folks are welcome to join us for
breakfast only or to continue on with the group.
After the cars are off the truck and ready to roll it will be off to Sonoma via
San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. Once in Sonoma we will tour
some of the areas wineries. Folks are welcome to spend the night so that
they can get an early start on day 2.
That's right, the fun doesn't end in Sonoma, on Sunday, the North Bay Cobra
group will be hosting their monthly breakfast/brunch in Petaluma and again
BACC is invited.
After breakfast it will be off to the coast and Bodega Bay. The route will then
head south with a stop in Tomales Bay to sample some of those world
famous oysters. It's then back on the road south on scenic Highway 1 and on
to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area to enjoy the most spectacular
view in the world. The route will continue back over the Golden Gate (you
just can't get enough of that bridge) then on toward the Cliff house and
Highway 1 south to Half Moon Bay just in time for appetisers or possibly
dinner.
Monday morning the second group from Texas will arrive at San Jose
International along with their Cobras. Again BACC members are invited to
join this group. The combined groups will make their way from San Jose to
Monterey for lunch and a drive on what many say is the most beautiful
17miles of roads in the state.
From Monterey the Texas group will continue down the coast, stopping at
Hearst Castle, San Louis Obispo, Santa Monica and finaly San Diego where
their tired Cobras will get back on the truck for a well earned trip back to
Texas.
A "signup" page will be posted soon so that we can have an idea of the
numbers of folks to expect on each of the days. There will be no formal
registration (fees etc.) but again, if you are planning on attending any of
these days we do ask that you sign-up so we can have a count for the
various stops.

9:00 – 10:00 Texas folks get their cars off of the truck
10:30 or so drive to Napa/Sonoma
12:00 Arrive in Santa Rosa Hotel Check-in

1:30 - 5:00 wine tasting( BR Cohn, Chateau St. Jean,
St Francis more??)
5:30- Return to hotel for party at Kern Creek Vineyards

10:30 drive to the coast
11:45 or so roll into Tamales Bay area for a oysters
1:00-2:00 Drive to Golden Gate National Rec. Area for
photo op (GG bridge and super view of SF
2:30 head down to Half Moon Bay via Great
Highway/Cliff House/Hwy1
Arrive in Half Moon Bay around 4:00

Note: the truck will unload beginning at 9:00 however,
some Texas folks arrive on a flight arriving at 9:30.

1:30 - 2:30 17 mile drive Monterey
3:00- Hotel check-in
